Gokseong-gun Launches Safety Culture Campaign to Prevent Accidents
Monthly Safety Inspection Day Campaign Promotion
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] On the 11th, Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Yoo Geun-gi) announced that it is promoting a safety culture movement to develop the ability to respond to various safety accidents and natural disasters.
Gokseong-gun is a super-aged area where out of a population of about 28,000, more than 10,000 people aged 65 or older account for 36.7%.
Accordingly, the ability to respond to various accidents is low, which can lead to major accidents, and the fact that many elderly people have difficulty moving acts as a factor threatening safety.
In addition, due to the regional characteristics where the Seomjin River and Boseong River flow, it is always necessary to be prepared for the risk of water play safety accidents in summer.
Considering this situation, the county is conducting a safety culture movement by visiting multi-use facilities such as schools and traditional markets every month with the police, fire department, and private organizations to guide compliance with various safety rules and action guidelines.
In particular, on Friday, August 13, a campaign will be held at the youth camp site during the summer vacation season, where the county governor, water safety personnel, and 119 Fire Safety Center will participate to promote compliance with COVID-19 quarantine rules and water play safety rules during the vacation season.
