141 New COVID-19 Cases in Gyeongnam Yesterday... Highest Daily Count Since Outbreak
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongnam Province announced on the 11th that 31 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported in the province after 5 p.m. on the 10th.
Based on the period from 0:00 to midnight on the 10th, 141 cases were confirmed, marking the highest number of daily cases in the province since the outbreak of COVID-19.
All confirmed cases overnight were locally transmitted.
By region, there were 17 in Changwon, 5 in Geoje, 4 in Jinju, 2 in Gimhae, and 1 each in Tongyeong, Sacheon, and Sancheong.
About half of the total confirmed cases, 16 people, were infected through contact with existing confirmed cases within the province, including family and acquaintances.
One confirmed case in Changwon is related to a large local supermarket, bringing the cumulative confirmed cases to 55.
One confirmed case in Gimhae is related to a local nursing hospital.
One confirmed case in Sacheon had contact with a confirmed case from the Seoul metropolitan area.
The infection routes of the remaining 12 cases are under investigation.
