[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] Kiwoom Heroes outfielder Song Woo-hyun (25) has been booked by the police on charges of drunk driving and crashing into a roadside tree.
According to the police on the 9th, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul has booked Song on charges including violation of the Road Traffic Act (drunk driving) and is investigating him.
Song is accused of drunk driving and crashing into a roadside tree on a road in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, at around 9:40 p.m. the previous day. At the time, Song's blood alcohol concentration was reportedly at the level warranting license cancellation.
Kiwoom stated that Song voluntarily reported to the club that he was under police investigation for drunk driving on that day.

Kiwoom said it notified the KBO of this fact and that since the police investigation is ongoing, they plan to explain the specific circumstances after the investigation is completed. Kiwoom added, "If the police investigation confirms drunk driving, we intend to proceed with disciplinary measures according to KBO regulations."
