Shinhan Bank Reaches 100,000 Users for Easy Transfer Service MyLink
Easy and Convenient Personal Remittance ID, My (MY) Link!
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] Shinhan Bank announced on the 9th that its ‘MY Link’ service, which allows users to easily request transfers by creating URLs and QR codes linked to deposit and withdrawal account numbers, has reached 100,000 users just over 50 days after its launch.
The ‘MY Link’ service enables users to receive transfers of up to 1 million KRW easily by sending a URL or QR code via KakaoTalk or text message instead of an account number to the sender. When the recipient creates a Korean or English ID such as ‘saengilchukhahaejwo’ (Happy Birthday) or ‘Give me plz’ in Shinhan SOL, a URL and QR code automatically linked to their account are generated. Each user can create up to five IDs and can create new ones or delete existing ones anytime within this limit.
MY Link allows the sender to simply click the transfer link to send money, eliminating the need to memorize account numbers and avoiding the risk of entering incorrect account details. This service has attracted significant interest from the MZ generation who prefer easy transfers and customers sensitive to personal information leaks.
To celebrate surpassing 100,000 MY Link users, Shinhan Bank is running an event called ‘Claim Your Own ID and Get 100% Prizes’ until the 23rd. All customers creating a MY Link ID for the first time by accessing Shinhan SOL will receive MY Shinhan Points ranging from 10 KRW to 1 million KRW, and the first 9,000 participants will also receive a 1,000 KRW GS25 convenience store gift certificate.
