NH Amundi Asset Management Launches 'Global AI Industry Fund'
[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] NH-Amundi Asset Management announced on the 9th the launch of the ‘NH-Amundi Global AI Industry Fund,’ which invests in global companies related to artificial intelligence (AI) technology in line with the era of innovative changes driven by AI.
The NH-Amundi Global AI Industry Fund invests in global companies that create business model innovation and economic added value through AI technology. Since the fund selects investment companies based on AI-related factors, it features diversified investments across cyclical and growth stocks in sectors such as IT, consumer goods, industrial goods, materials, energy, and finance.
AI-related stocks are broadly divided into three sectors for investment: AI infrastructure, AI applications, and AI internalization industries. The AI infrastructure sector includes industries essential for AI core technologies such as semiconductors, big data, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things. The AI applications sector covers industries related to social media, robotics, and factory automation, where AI technology is applied to enable cost reduction, automation, and rapid decision-making. The AI internalization sector includes companies that incorporate AI throughout their overall business models.
This fund is a fund of funds that invests in the Allianz Global AI Fund managed by Allianz Global Investors. The investee fund, Allianz Global AI Fund, was established in March 2017 and had assets under management of KRW 12.7 trillion (USD 11.13 billion) as of the end of June 2021. Since its inception, it recorded a cumulative return of 231.40% and a one-year return of 81.39% as of the end of June.
