[Asia Economy Reporter Na Ye-eun] A woman in her 30s from Siheung-si, Gyeonggi-do, who completed her second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, died a day after the vaccination, prompting health authorities to investigate the causal relationship.
According to health authorities on the 6th, Ms. A, a daycare teacher residing in Siheung-si, received her second dose of the Pfizer vaccine around 10 a.m. on the 4th. After showing no particular symptoms, Ms. A experienced a headache that afternoon and took painkillers. Around 9 p.m., while watching TV at home with her husband, she complained of severe abdominal pain.
Ms. A lost consciousness and collapsed, and was transported by 119 paramedics to a general hospital in Ansan about 2 hours later, but she passed away around 7 a.m. the next day, the 5th.
Ms. A’s husband said, "The doctors said she died from acute cerebral hemorrhage," adding, "My wife, who was always healthy without any illnesses, experienced this right after the vaccination, and I don’t know what to make of it."
He also stated, "We reported this to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, the public health center, and the police, requesting an investigation into the vaccine’s involvement."
It is known that Ms. A had no adverse symptoms when she received her first dose of the same Pfizer vaccine on the 14th of last month.

The Siheung City Public Health Center said, "A report of an adverse reaction to the vaccine has been received," and added, "We have reported this to Gyeonggi-do, and epidemiologists have begun investigating the connection to the vaccination."
