In September last year, Jinju City signed a business agreement with the Korea Expressway Corporation Busan-Gyeongnam Headquarters and invested 400 million won to complete the construction of a dog playground equipped with dog play facilities, user convenience facilities, and a management office.
Only registered dogs are allowed to enter the playground. Accompanying users must prepare leashes, safety equipment, and waste collection bags.
At the completion ceremony, Seo Kyung-seok, head of the Korea Expressway Corporation Busan-Gyeongnam Headquarters, said, "The existing dog playground, which had limited space, was renovated into a small dog play area, and the city remodeled the medium and large dog play areas entirely," adding, "We hope many citizens will run and play with their dogs in the newly changed playground."
Mayor Cho Gyu-il stated, "As we enter the era of 10 million companion animals, we hope pet owners can spend happy times with their pets without worries," emphasizing, "We will continue to strive for animal welfare so that spaces for companion animals are not perceived as nuisance facilities."
