Gwangju Seo-gu Conducts 'Violence Prevention Education' for Senior Officials
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Seo Dae-seok) announced on the 5th that it will conduct 'Violence Prevention Education' for about 60 senior public officials, including department heads (grade 5 or higher), at the Deulbul Hall of Seo-gu Office on the 6th.
Seo-gu has been promoting education to prevent the four major types of violence?sexual harassment, sexual violence, prostitution, and domestic violence?for all employees every year, but this year it decided to conduct separate education twice for senior public officials of grade 5 or higher.
This education will provide prevention training related to sexual harassment and sexual violence, and next month, prevention education related to prostitution and domestic violence will be conducted.
The education, led by Yang Dong-ok, a professional instructor of violence prevention education from the Korea Institute for Gender Equality Promotion and Education, focuses on cases of sexual harassment and sexual violence occurring in public institutions and ways to prevent and respond to them.
Due to the COVID-19 situation, non-face-to-face education will also be conducted through the internal administrative network Onnara PC video.
Seo Dae-seok, Mayor of Seo-gu, said, "We will make this education an opportunity to improve awareness of violence," and added, "We will strive to create a safe and healthy workplace culture free from sexual harassment and sexual violence."
