Joo Byung-jin Assault Victim Withdraws Complaint... "Received Apology"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] A man in his 40s who was assaulted by broadcaster Joo Byung-jin (62) at a sauna has withdrawn his complaint.
Businessman Mr. A stated on the 4th, "At Mr. Joo's request, I met him in person last month and received a sincere apology. Today, I withdrew the complaint through my lawyer."
Earlier, Mr. A filed a police report claiming he was assaulted by Mr. Joo while having a conversation in the sauna changing room of a hotel in Mapo-gu, Seoul, in June. The police, recognizing the charges against Mr. Joo, forwarded the case to the prosecution at the end of last month.
Since assault is a 'non-prosecution offense upon victim's withdrawal,' the case is expected to be closed.
