Muju-gun, 100% Reduction in Basic Resident Tax Rate for 2021
[Muju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Muju-gun announced on the 4th that it will provide a 100% exemption on the 2021 individual resident tax, which is imposed every August, to alleviate the economic burden on local residents suffering from the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
The exemption targets household heads and business owners (individual business owners and corporations) residing in Muju-gun. The exempted tax amounts are 11,000 KRW for individuals, 55,000 KRW for individual business owners, and 55,000 to 220,000 KRW for corporations.
Hwang In-hong, the governor of Muju-gun, said, "Following 2020, we hope that the 2021 resident tax exemption will help ease the economic burden on local residents facing difficulties due to COVID-19," and added, "We will continue to implement taxpayer-centered tax administration supporting vulnerable groups, small business owners, and micro-entrepreneurs."
Meanwhile, the business site resident tax imposed on business sites exceeding a total floor area of 330㎡ will be levied as before. To prevent errors by business site resident tax payers, payment slips indicating the tax amount will be sent by mail.
