Jeonnam Province Leads in Fostering a Healthy Public Service Culture
Invitation of Yoo Jeong-heun, Director of Gender Sensitivity Improvement Institute, for Training on 'Gender Sensitivity Awareness for Managers' and More
[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Province is making every effort to prevent the four major types of workplace violence and to foster a healthy public service culture.
On the 3rd, the province invited Yoo Jeongheun, Director of the Gender Leadership Improvement Education Center, to conduct training for senior officials including department heads on topics such as ‘Understanding Sexual Harassment in the Workplace’ and ‘Gender Sensitivity for Managers’.
Until last year, forums or cyber training were conducted uniformly for all employees including heads of institutions, but starting this year, separate face-to-face training for senior officials including heads of institutions has been mandated, leading to newly tailored education for senior officials.
The training was held with about 30 participants including Governor Kim Youngrok, Deputy Governor for Political Affairs Yoon Byungtae, and various department heads, while strictly maintaining social distancing measures to prevent COVID-19, such as temperature checks, mask-wearing, and spaced seating.
In the lecture, Director Yoo presented characteristics and criteria for judgment of gender-based violence occurring in the workplace through real cases, emphasizing that “active intervention by managers is necessary to prevent workplace complicity and neglect.”
