Arrest Warrant Requested for Hunting Dog Owner After Mother and Daughter Severely Injured
Gyeongbuk Mungyeong Police Station, No Leash or Muzzle... Charged with Gross Negligence Injury
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] A warrant for arrest has been requested for the owner of a hunting dog who bit and seriously injured two women on a walk.
The Mungyeong Police Station in Gyeongbuk announced on the 3rd that they have requested an arrest warrant for dog owner A on charges including gross negligence causing injury in connection with the 'dog bite' incident involving two residents on a walk.
A is accused of taking a total of six dogs, including three Greyhounds and mixed breeds, on an outing on the afternoon of the 25th of last month, without safety measures such as leashes and muzzles, and biting and injuring two women who were out for a walk.
The police explained that the reason for requesting the arrest warrant was that A released six adult dogs without safety measures such as leashes on the walking trail, causing harm to residents.
Earlier, Mungyeong City imposed a fine of 1.2 million won (200,000 won per dog) on A for violating the Animal Protection Act in relation to this incident.
