View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] In early last month, to support the residents of Jangheung-gun who suffered flood damage due to heavy rain, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Moon Seok-jin) delivered 100 blankets worth 5 million won and 50 fans through the Seodaemun-gu Social Welfare Council (Chairperson Choi Ae-young), and Nam1 Sarang Nanum and Ultari Volunteer Association delivered daily necessities packages worth 1.2 million won.
According to Jangheung-gun on the 3rd, Seodaemun-gu has maintained friendly exchanges by participating in mutual regional festivals and direct transaction markets since signing a sisterhood agreement on February 5, 2013.
Moon Seok-jin, Mayor of Seodaemun-gu, said, “Upon hearing the news on the 22nd of last month that Jangheung-gun was designated as a special disaster area, we prepared supplies to comfort the pain of the residents affected by the heavy rain,” adding, “We hope for a swift recovery from the flood damage so that they can return to their stable lives as before.”
Jung Jong-soon, County Governor, responded, “We thank Seodaemun-gu, the Seodaemun-gu Social Welfare Council, and various organizations that helped during this difficult time, and we will deliver their warm hearts along with the relief supplies to the flood victims.”
