Governor Vacancy: Gyeongnam Representative Lee Jun-seok to Visit... Will Address Regional Issues Including Administrative Gap
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Lee Jun-seok, the leader of the People Power Party, will visit Gyeongnam on the 3rd.
This visit is aimed at addressing the livelihood and economy of Gyeongnam, which have been struggling due to the vacancy of the Gyeongnam governor position and the spread of COVID-19. Lee Dal-gon, chairman of the Gyeongnam Provincial Party Committee, Seo Beom-su, chief secretary to the party leader, and others will accompany him.
At 10 a.m. on the day, Lee Jun-seok will pay respects at the National March 15 Democracy Cemetery, then move to the conference room on the 6th floor of the Changwon Convention Center to hold an "Emergency Meeting to Support Gyeongnam Provincial Administration" with People Power Party members of the National Assembly and party committee chairpersons in the province, Ha Byung-pil, acting governor of Gyeongnam, and related provincial government officials.
During the meeting, discussions will focus on major projects in Gyeongnam to minimize the damage caused to residents by the administrative vacancy. Afterwards, he will meet with Gyeongnam journalists to explain the party’s stance on political and regional issues.
In the afternoon, he will visit Masan Fish Market, a representative traditional market of Gyeongnam, to hold a meeting with key members of the merchants' association and listen to the difficulties faced by market merchants suffering from the spread of COVID-19 and other challenges.

He will then visit the site of Jinhae New Port, a national project worth 12 trillion won, the largest in Gyeongnam’s history. At this event, Lee will emphasize the necessity of constructing Jinhae New Port amid the situation where the preliminary feasibility study failed at the end of last year and the administrative vacancy occurred, expressing the People Power Party’s determination to actively engage in the project.
