[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The Geochang-gun Scholarship Foundation in Gyeongnam announced on the 2nd that it will officially start the mentoring project by holding a preliminary meeting with university student mentors participating in the 'University Student and Youth Mentoring Education Support Project.'
The mentoring project is a new initiative launched by the Geochang-gun Scholarship Foundation this year. Considering the spread of COVID-19, the activities will primarily be conducted online, focusing on mentoring related to academic subjects such as mathematics and essay writing, exploring majors, effective study methods, and college entrance counseling.
Applications were accepted until the 23rd of last month, selecting 9 mentors and 21 high school mentees within the district. Mentees are matched with their preferred mentors, and mentoring activities will be conducted over five months. Mentors will receive volunteer activity support fees (10,000 KRW per hour) and activity certificates.
