Minister of Industry Visits Anseong COVID-19 Residential Treatment Center to Encourage Medical Staff
[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Haeyoung] Moon Seung-wook, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, visited the 'COVID-19 Anseong Residential Treatment Center' located in Gyeonggi-do on the 2nd.
The visit was made to deliver encouragement supplies, support and encourage medical staff and support personnel amid the rapid increase in COVID-19 confirmed cases, and to listen to opinions from the field.
Minister Moon said, "Residential treatment centers are a key element in overcoming COVID-19 by properly treating asymptomatic·and mild patients to prevent deterioration into severe cases and enabling early return to daily life, thereby reducing the burden on the medical system," adding, "I ask all medical staff and workers to take pride in guarding the front line that protects the lives of the people and our economy in the war against COVID-19, and to continue their hard work in the future."
He also emphasized the necessity of thorough safety management of electrical facilities to prevent power outages within the residential treatment centers due to the recent surge in electricity usage caused by the heatwave.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy will conduct safety inspections of electrical and refrigeration facilities at 65 residential treatment centers nationwide from the 2nd to the 6th, in cooperation with the Korea Electrical Safety Corporation and the Korea Gas Safety Corporation.
