NongHyup Bank Opens Online Education Platform for Rural Students
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] NH Nonghyup Bank announced on the 2nd that it has launched an online education platform called 'Choroksaem' that provides various learning programs to rural elementary, middle, and high school students who are having difficulties studying due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
'Choroksaem' is a name combining 'Chorok,' which evokes the greenery of rural areas, and 'Saemmul' (spring water), symbolizing quenching the thirst for education among rural students.
The platform targets students attending elementary, middle, and high schools located in eup, myeon, and ri areas with fewer than 100 students in total. Including students recommended by local governments and Nonghyup in each city and province, lectures are provided to a total of 150,000 students. The curriculum, covering subjects such as Korean, English, and Math, is offered from 5th grade elementary to 2nd grade high school through talent donations and video lectures.
Additionally, past exam questions and personality, intelligence, and aptitude tests are provided, along with education-related news, college entrance exam strategy guidance, and courses in English, Chinese, and Japanese offered by major language institutes. Extracurricular lectures include classes in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, information technology and coding, musical instrument performance, and special lectures by experts in various fields.
