Oshipova Wins After Shoot-Off Duel
Ansang (20, Gwangju Women's University) has rewritten the history of world archery. She became the first ever Olympic archer to win three gold medals.
On the 30th, Ansang defeated Russia's Yelena Osipova in a shoot-off battle in the women's individual final at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics archery venue at Yumenoshima Park in Tokyo, Japan. Having previously won gold medals in the mixed team and women's team events, Ansang achieved a triple crown at this tournament. Additionally, she tied the record for the most Olympic gold medals by a Korean athlete.

Thanks to Ansang's outstanding performance, the archery team swept four out of the five gold medals available at this tournament. With only one gold medal left, they are on track to achieve a clean sweep of all events for the second consecutive Olympics following the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics.
