[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] KB Kookmin Bank announced on the 8th that it will support an early settlement program to help global families and North Korean defectors live stably and adapt in Korea.
KB Kookmin Bank plans to support global families and North Korean defectors by conducting a comprehensive program of 'employment, language, and culture' in collaboration with the Korean Red Cross, including job exploration, Korean language education, Korean culture lectures, and psychological counseling.
In particular, KB Kookmin Bank supports interest and aptitude development through job experiences in baking, barista skills, and beauty care at the Korean Red Cross KB Nanum Bakery sponsored by KB Kookmin Bank, and plans to provide additional support for certification and job acquisition to outstanding beneficiaries.
Beneficiaries of the program will be recruited until the 30th at four centers of the Korean Red Cross in Seongnam, Uijeongbu, Icheon, and Ansan, and the program will be conducted both online and offline starting in August.
In addition, KB Financial Group will provide additional support to this early settlement program with a donation of 100 million KRW raised through an event held at the KPGA Korean Tour KB Financial Live Championship in May.
To ensure that global families and North Korean defectors can safely receive online education even during the COVID-19 situation, tablet PCs and other devices will be provided.
