Gwangju Seo-gu Holds Agreement Ceremony for 'Gongyuseoga, Book Reading Store'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Dae-seok) announced on the 27th that it held a signing ceremony for the ‘Shared Bookshelf, Book Reading Store’ on the 26th to allow citizens visiting small business establishments to read books.
The ‘Book Reading Store’ is a community-based library service that provides books to neighborhood stores so that citizens can read books in their spare time.
Currently, five ‘Book Reading Stores,’ including cafes and clinics, have been selected, and ‘Shared Bookshelves’ have been installed to provide various reading information services such as books, signboards, and book curation cards.
A Seo-gu official said, “We hope that through the Book Reading Store, citizens can enjoy a reading culture in a closer and more familiar place,” and added, “We will actively cooperate to expand the base of the reading culture of residents together with the local community in the future.”
Meanwhile, Seo-gu plans to promote various projects to create a reading-specialized city, including revitalizing reading clubs, establishing smart libraries, and building public libraries.
