A Female Worker in Her 50s Dies at a Shipyard in Jeonnam... Police Investigation Underway
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] A woman in her 50s was found dead inside a large ship under construction at a shipyard in Yeongam, Jeonnam, prompting the police to launch an investigation.
According to the Mokpo Police Station in Jeonnam on the 26th, a female worker in her mid-50s, Ms. A, was found unconscious and collapsed by a colleague at a shipyard in Samho-eup, Yeongam-gun, at around 8:20 a.m. the previous day.
Ms. A was transported by the shipyard-operated ambulance to a large hospital in the Mokpo area, where medical staff reportedly declared her dead at around 9 a.m. the same day.
The police received a report from the medical staff and are investigating the case of Ms. A’s death. It is understood that she was found without breathing or pulse in the lower deck space of a large liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier under construction.
