KFC Signs MOU with TriumphX for Joint Blockchain Research
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] KFC Korea announced on the 25th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with TriumphX, a cross-chain based NFT (Non-Fungible Token) developer, to integrate blockchain joint research and NFT technology into its business.
NFT is a technology that stores ownership of specific digital files in the form of blockchain, which is tamper-proof. It adds scarcity to digital content and supports free transactions between individuals, which is why it has been rapidly applied in various fields such as games, sports, art, music, characters, and brand content recently.
According to NFT market analysis firm NonFungible.com, the NFT transaction volume in the first quarter of this year was about 2 trillion KRW, showing remarkable growth compared to last year's transaction volume of 400 billion KRW.
Through this MOU, KFC Korea plans to apply blockchain and NFT technology to its brand content and present it in a completely new format.
