Free Rental of Household Tools for Resident Convenience
[Gwangyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seonsik] The ‘Living Tool Sharing Center’ in Jungma-dong, Gwangyang City, Jeollanam-do, announced on the 23rd that it has been steadily providing free rental services to local residents in need of tools since opening in 2018.
The Jungma-dong Living Tool Sharing Center is a community-oriented convenience service that rents out tools free of charge to residents, especially those tools that are necessary for daily life but have low usage frequency, making direct purchase burdensome or storage difficult.
The rental tools include 46 types of tools necessary for everyday life, such as household tool sets, electric drills, and monkey wrenches.
The rental criteria restrict borrowing to Jungma-dong residents only, with a maximum of 5 items per household.
The rental period is 3 days, with a one-time extension of 2 days allowed. When renting tools, an ID must be presented, and a deposit of 5,000 KRW per tool must be paid.
The deposit paid will be refunded upon return of the tools.
The ‘Jungma-dong Living Tool Sharing Center’ is located in front of the office on the 2nd floor of the Jungma-dong Residents’ Autonomous Center, and its operating hours are weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Seo Yong-il, General Affairs Team Leader of Jungma-dong, said, “Many citizens still do not know about the Jungma-dong Living Tool Sharing Center,” and added, “We will continue to promote it steadily so that more citizens can use the free tool rental service.”
