[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Dae-seok) announced on the 22nd that it conducted 'Public Official Litigation Education' related to litigation affairs for its public officials.
This recent litigation education, conducted online and offline for a total of 330 people, was led by Attorney Kang Jeong-hoon of the Legal Affairs and Regulatory Innovation Team under the Audit Officer of Seo-gu Office.
The education covered topics such as criminal litigation procedures, key issues following the enforcement of the Administrative Basic Act, and litigation support related to official duties.
In particular, the litigation support related to official duties included content about the 'Gwangju Seo-gu Litigation Support Ordinance for Official Duties' (jointly proposed by Assemblymen Kim Tae-jin and Kim Ok-su), recently passed by the Seo-gu Council, which aims to guarantee proactive work performance and protect rightful interests by providing litigation support to public officials who file or are subject to lawsuits related to legitimate official duties.
Deputy Mayor Kim Seok-ung stated, "No public official who works actively should suffer unfair difficulties from various disciplinary actions or lawsuits," adding, "The rightful rights of public officials, who can no longer be free from lawsuits, must be protected, and the Litigation Support Ordinance for Official Duties was enacted reflecting this atmosphere."
