According to the Seogwipo Coast Guard, the stranded vessel was a 53-ton fishing boat registered in Guryongpo. Initially, it was reported that 7 crew members were on board, but during the rescue operation, it was confirmed that 8 crew members were aboard.
The Seogwipo Coast Guard dispatched helicopters, patrol vessels, coastal rescue boats, and rescue teams to the scene, while also requesting cooperation from related agencies such as the fire department and nearby vessels. They successfully rescued all 8 crew members aboard the fishing vessel.
At the time, a northeast wind was blowing at 9-12 m/s, and the wave height was recorded at 2-3 meters (swell), with a wind and wave advisory issued, making it difficult to approach the stranded vessel.
The Coast Guard confirmed that although 60 drums of diesel were loaded on the vessel, no marine pollution has occurred in the nearby waters yet.
