Korea FPSB: "92% of Banks Prefer Financial Professionals with Certifications"
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-seop] It has been found that the majority of financial professional certificate holders receive preferential treatment when being hired by banks.
According to a survey by Korea FPSB on the 17th, 92% of certificate holders were given preferential benefits during the recruitment process for new bank employees. Insurance companies, securities firms, and public enterprises also often provided preferential treatment.
The analysis targeted financial companies among the top 500 companies by sales that conducted new employee recruitment in the second half of last year or the first half of this year. The survey examined the preferential treatment status for financial certifications such as Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Associate Financial Planner Korea (AFPK).
In the case of banks, six domestic commercial banks and four regional banks specified preferential treatment for 'financial certificate holders' in their recruitment announcements. Six banks, including Hana Bank and Industrial Bank of Korea, specifically mentioned the CFP certification.
Among insurance companies, 16 out of 18 gave additional points for financial certifications. Insurance companies that indicated preferential treatment for CFP certification in their recruitment announcements include KB Life Insurance, Shinhan Life Insurance, DB Life Insurance, and NongHyup Life Insurance. Samsung Life Insurance did not indicate preferential treatment for certificate holders in its recruitment announcements but is registered as a designated education institution for CFP and AFPK. It supports all employees in acquiring certifications to strengthen their capabilities.
