'Gugak Hometown' Goryeong-gun, Gyeongbuk, Operates Gayageum Experience Program at Ureuk Museum
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Goryeong-gun, Gyeongbuk announced on the 16th that it is recruiting participant teams for the Gayageum making and playing experience program at the Ureuk Museum, which will be held from September 4 to November 7.
The Gayageum experience program at the Ureuk Museum has been held annually for 14 years to promote Goryeong, the hometown of Korean traditional music, and to expand the base of Gayageum players. Gayageum master Kim Donghwan from Goryeong-gun will lead the entire class.
This year, four sessions will be held over a two-week course (weekends). For the currently ongoing first session recruitment, about 30 teams have applied out of the 50-team target. The application deadline is until October.

A Goryeong-gun official stated, "Every year, about 50 teams (approximately 150 people) participate, with many people from all over the country joining the experience program."
