Sampyo Introduces Korea's First Small-Scale 3㎥ Ready-Mixed Concrete for Construction Use
Useful for 3㎥ Dense Housing Areas and 9㎥ Large Construction Projects
Cost Efficiency Expected Through On-Site Situations and Demand-Tailored Services
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] Sampyo Group, a specialist in basic construction materials, is driving transportation innovation centered on customers by diversifying the sizes of ready-mixed concrete (remicon) mixer trucks tailored to consumer needs in response to the diversification of construction demand.
Sampyo Industry, an affiliate of Sampyo Group, announced on the 15th that it is conducting pilot operations of 9㎥ vehicles, including the first-ever domestically introduced 3㎥ remicon mixer truck.
The amount of remicon that can be transported at one time varies depending on the mixer’s specifications. Existing remicon vehicles have been standardized at 6㎥ regardless of usage volume, limiting their ability to meet diverse needs ranging from large-scale construction demand to small-scale projects. This introduction is a proactive measure to respond to changes in the construction market due to the third new town developments and urban reconstruction and redevelopment.
The 3㎥ vehicle, introduced for the first time domestically, is suitable for small-scale construction sites in narrow urban alleyways where the larger 6㎥ vehicles cannot access. Due to the difficulty of entry with 6㎥ vehicles, remicon had to be transported to sites using separate equipment such as portable pumps or manpower with wheelbarrows.
The 3㎥ vehicle currently in pilot operation is expected to secure potential customers in underserved areas, as it is highly useful in densely populated residential areas where remicon was previously placed using separate equipment.
The 9㎥ vehicle can transport 1.5 times more remicon per trip compared to the existing 6㎥ vehicle. Demand is expected to increase as large-scale construction projects requiring massive remicon input rise due to recent government housing supply policies.
Sampyo Industry anticipates economic benefits from large-volume transportation by reducing the number of vehicles deployed and the number of trips with the introduction of the 9㎥ vehicle. At sites requiring large amounts of remicon, such as foundation laying or large civil engineering projects, the pouring time can be shortened compared to existing vehicles, receiving positive feedback.
