[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] eBay Korea announced on the 15th that it has donated 30 million KRW in environmental protection funds, prepared together with Samsung Electronics online partners, to the WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature). These funds are planned to be used for marine plastic collection activities.
At the online donation ceremony held the previous day at eBay Korea headquarters in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Ham Young-jun, team leader of the Sales Headquarters PC team at eBay Korea, Samsung Electronics online partner Park Young-jun, CEO of Petezone, Han Sang-hyun, CEO of Digital Taeyang, and Lee Hu-gon, a professional from Samsung Electronics, attended.
The funds for this donation ceremony were raised by selling printers such as Samsung genuine infinite inkjet and laser multifunction printers at a 20% discount during the 'Price Horror SHOW - Environmental Donation Special Exhibition' held last month on Gmarket and Auction. Samsung Electronics online partners contributed a total of 20 million KRW from promotion proceeds and other sources. eBay Korea prepared a customer participation promotion. Any Gmarket and Auction member could click the 'Free Donation' button once daily on the event page, and eBay Korea accumulated 10 million KRW on their behalf in social contribution funds through support shopping and sharing shopping, donating 500 KRW per click.
This fund was delivered to the international nature conservation organization WWF and will be used for marine plastic collection activities to protect marine life. WWF is a non-profit nature conservation organization dedicated to preserving diverse life forms and habitats on Earth, having carried out more than 13,000 nature conservation projects in over 100 countries worldwide.
