Gwangju Seo-gu Hosts 'Moonlight Small Concert' at 5.18 History Park
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Dae-seok) announced on the 14th that it will hold a special "Moonlight Small Concert" performance of Gwangju 5.18 Healing & Hope through Music at the outdoor stage of the 5.18 History Park on the 15th.
This performance was prepared to naturally inspire the spirit of 5.18 to citizens by holding a concert at the 5.18 History Park, which was reborn from the former 505 Security Unit into the 5.18 History Park last May to learn about Gwangju's pain and history.
Also, the stage will be filled with a variety of performances that people of all ages can enjoy, such as instrumental performances and people's songs, as a musical journey offering comfort and hope in the 5.18 History Park, which has been reborn as a resting place where citizens can receive healing.
For families and citizens who have suffered difficulties due to COVID-19, Seo-gu Office will broadcast the concert live on YouTube, providing various fun and enjoyment of the concert to citizens who find it difficult to visit in person.
The concert will be held with temperature checks before viewing, hand sanitization, and maintaining personal distance to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and masks must be worn at all times.
A Seo-gu official said, "We prepared the performance for healing and hope at the resting place of the 5.18 History Park," adding, "We hope this small concert will be a meaningful time to reflect on the spirit and significance of the May 18 Gwangju Democratization Movement and to comfort and heal citizens exhausted by COVID-19."
