"Let's Revive Local Businesses" Gwanghwamun One Team Continues Love Prepayment Campaign
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] KT announced on the 14th that it will carry out activities such as Love Prepayment, Love Lunchbox, and Love Meal Kit together with institutions belonging to the Gwanghwamun One Team to support small business owners near Gwanghwamun who are struggling with sales due to the escalation of social distancing measures.
The Gwanghwamun One Team’s ‘Love Prepayment’ is a project that encourages employees’ kind consumption by prepaying for meals at restaurants in the Gwanghwamun area. KT conducted this project in September last year with the aim of helping local businesses facing difficulties as companies implemented remote work due to the resurgence of COVID-19. KT prepaid a total of 25 million KRW, 500,000 KRW each for 50 restaurants with decreased sales, and 15 institutions belonging to the Gwanghwamun One Team are expected to join the Love Prepayment project in the future.
The Gwanghwamun One Team also united in purchasing ‘Love Lunchboxes.’ Love Lunchboxes are lunchboxes made by small business owners in Gwanghwamun and sold in company cafeterias. The Gwanghwamun One Team plans to sell lunchbox-style meals to employees at the same price as the cafeteria and purchase 200 lunchboxes daily until the social distancing level is lowered.
Additionally, they are participating in the coexistence of local businesses through ‘Love Meal Kits.’ Love Meal Kits are ready-to-cook meals made by restaurants near Gwanghwamun and sold to One Team employees via the ‘Nanjeong’ application, with the company covering 8,000 KRW of the 12,000 KRW meal kit price. The period is from the 14th to the 23rd.
