Son Byung-hwan, Chairman of NH Nonghyup Financial Group, visited Haenam-gun and Jangheung-gun in Jeollanam-do on the 13th to hear firsthand about the difficulties faced by farmers affected by the heavy rain and to assess the situation for countermeasure planning. View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Sohn Byung-hwan, Chairman of NH Nonghyup Financial Group, visited Haenam-gun and Jangheung-gun in Jeonnam to directly hear the difficulties of farmers affected by the heavy rain and to assess the situation for countermeasure planning.
According to Nonghyup Financial on the 14th, Chairman Sohn visited Haenam and Jangheung the previous day, promising comprehensive financial support and delivering relief supplies to affected farms and disaster victims.
The Jeonnam regions of Haenam and Jangheung visited by Chairman Sohn suffered severe damage, including over 800 disaster victims, due to heavy rain exceeding 500mm from the 5th to the 7th.
Chairman Sohn plans to implement ▲new support for agricultural policy funds ▲deferment of repayment and interest reduction for livestock and agricultural management funds ▲prompt on-site investigation for crop disaster insurance compensation.

Chairman Sohn said, "It is regrettable that farmers are suffering serious damage such as flooding of houses and farmland due to the concentrated heavy rain," adding, "All affiliates of Nonghyup Financial will closely cooperate and spare no support to ensure the heavy rain damage is quickly resolved."
