Kim Byeongnae, Mayor of Gwangju Nam-gu, Joins Public Delivery App Order Challenge with "Eonnung Sikyebureo"
Next Candidate Kim Sun-min Appointed as Director of Gwangju Technopark
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Kim Byeongnae, Mayor of Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, joined the order challenge of Gwangju's public delivery app ‘Eonneung Sikyeobureo’ to support employees overwhelmed by COVID-19 and small business owners.
According to Nam-gu on the 13th, Mayor Kim ordered about 100 waffles through the public delivery app ‘Wemakeprice O’ at 3 p.m. the previous day.
The waffles were delivered to employees working at the COVID-19 vaccination center and screening clinic set up in the Nam-gu multipurpose gymnasium.
Mayor Kim said, “The earnest wish of Nam-gu public officials working on the front lines of COVID-19 is for our residents to be able to take off their masks as soon as possible,” adding, “I support the employees who spend nights in tears because they cannot fulfill their parental roles at home due to early morning arrivals and late departures, and I am always grateful and thankful.”
He also took part in supporting small business owners and consumers in the Gwangju area through the Gwangju public delivery app order challenge.
In particular, as food delivery services have become widespread, some companies with capital scale have established a monopoly system, so he conveyed the message that the pain of small business owners should be soothed by activating the use of region-centered public delivery apps.
Mayor Kim stated, “Due to the increase in brokerage fees caused by monopolies, the burden on small business owners inevitably continues to grow,” and added, “Let’s promote the use of Gwangju public delivery apps, which offer discounts on delivery orders and lower brokerage fees, so that small business owners and consumers can grow together and revive neighborhood commercial districts.”
