Amazon 일부 서비스 temporarily down worldwide for 2 hours
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] Some services of Amazon, the world's largest e-commerce company, experienced a temporary global outage and have since been restored.
According to major foreign media on the 12th (local time), the web monitoring site Downdetector reported that on the afternoon of the 11th (U.S. time) and early morning of the 12th in most other time zones, Amazon's online mall and web services (AWS) were not functioning properly for about two hours.
Of all reported issues, 80% were related to the website, 15% to login problems, and 5% to payment issues.
More than 38,000 users experienced inconvenience while shopping due to problems such as product listings not appearing on the online shopping mall.
This phenomenon was confirmed in the U.S., India, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Singapore, and other countries.
About 500 users experienced inconvenience with AWS.
An Amazon spokesperson said, "Some customers may have experienced temporary inconvenience while shopping," adding, "The issue has now been resolved and everything is functioning normally." Amazon declined to comment on the cause of the site outage.
