Donghae City to Open Beaches Starting from the 14th
Distribution of 300,000 'Body Temperature Stickers' and Operation of 'Vaccine Bonus Zone'
[Asia Economy Reporter La Youngcheol] Donghae City, Gangwon Province, will begin full-scale operation of its beaches starting from the 14th to welcome the summer vacation season.
On the 12th, the city announced, "We plan to further strengthen the non-face-to-face smart quarantine system to prevent and contain the spread of COVID-19."
To this end, 300,000 'Safe Call' devices to manage beach visit records and 'temperature stickers' for easy fever checks will be distributed, and mask-wearing will be mandatory regardless of vaccination status.
Additionally, tent distancing and boundary fences will be installed around Mangsang Beach, and a 'Vaccine Bonus Zone' will be operated.
Together with the province, parasol and beach beds will be installed and operated, and these will be provided free of charge only to those who have passed 14 days after their first vaccine dose, those fully vaccinated, and their families.
The city plans to open Mangsang Surfing Beach, catering to the recently increasing number of surfers, in August and operate it year-round.
