Jeong Ok, Jeonnam Provincial Assembly Member, Proposes Revised Ordinance on Birth and Childcare Support
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] Jeonnam Provincial Council announced on the 8th that the “Jeollanam-do Birth and Childcare Support Ordinance Partial Amendment Ordinance,” which was proposed by Representative Jung Ok-nim (Democratic Party of Korea, proportional representation), has passed the Planning and Administration Committee review.
This ordinance aims to create a favorable environment for childbirth and childcare to encourage births. It stipulates necessary matters such as supporting health insurance costs for newborns born in the province and providing performance rewards to excellent affiliated stores to expand the Jeonnam Multi-Child Happiness Card affiliated stores.
Representative Jung said, “The increasingly low birth rate issue is a nationwide phenomenon, not only in Jeonnam Province,” and added, “We will do our best to alleviate the economic burden of childbirth and childcare for residents and make Jeonnam a good place to live with children.”
