Lee Jae-myung and Yoon Seok-yeol Both Surpass 50% Support Among Ruling and Opposition Party Bases [Realmeter]

[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] It has been revealed that Lee Jae-myung, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, and Yoon Seok-youl, former Prosecutor General, who are considered leading presidential candidates from the ruling and opposition parties respectively, are receiving support rates exceeding the majority from supporters of the Democratic Party of Korea and the People Power Party.
On the 8th, Realmeter, a public opinion research firm, conducted a survey commissioned by 'OhmyNews' targeting 1,006 voters nationwide aged 18 and older to assess the suitability of next presidential candidates from the ruling party. The results showed Governor Lee Jae-myung at 32.4% and former Representative Lee Nak-yeon at 19.4%. Following them were former Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae at 7.6%, former Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun at 6.0%, Representative Park Yong-jin at 5.0%, Governor Choi Moon-soon of Gangwon Province at 1.8%, Governor Yang Seung-jo of Chungnam Province at 1.4%, and Representative Kim Doo-kwan at 0.8%. The undecided group (none/don't know) accounted for 25.8%.
Among Democratic Party supporters, Governor Lee had the highest support at 50.3%. He was followed by former Representative Lee Nak-yeon at 30.5%, former Minister Choo Mi-ae at 10.3%, both recording double digits, then former Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun at 4.2%, Representative Park Yong-jin at 2.1%, Governor Choi Moon-soon at 0.8%, and Governors Yang Seung-jo and Representative Kim Doo-kwan each at 0.3%.
For the opposition party's next presidential candidate, former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-youl led with 33.2%, followed by Representative Hong Joon-pyo at 12.9%, former Representative Yoo Seung-min at 9.7%, People's Party Leader Ahn Cheol-soo at 6.6%, former Board of Audit and Inspection Chairman Choi Jae-hyung at 4.0%, Representative Ha Tae-kyung at 3.9%, former Representative Hwang Kyo-ahn at 3.4%, Governor Won Hee-ryong of Jeju Province at 2.7%, Representative Yoon Hee-sook at 2.6%, and other candidates at 1.2%. The undecided group accounted for 19.7%.
In particular, among People Power Party supporters, former Prosecutor General Yoon's support rate reached 58.0%, showing overwhelming support compared to other candidates. Representative Hong recorded double digits at 10.0%, followed by former Representative Yoo Seung-min at 6.0%, former Chairman Choi Jae-hyung at 5.6%, former Representative Hwang Kyo-ahn at 3.5%, Leader Ahn Cheol-soo at 3.4%, Representative Yoon Hee-sook at 2.5%, Governor Won Hee-ryong at 2.0%, and Representative Ha Tae-kyung at 1.3%.

This survey was conducted over two days, from the 6th to the 7th, contacting 26,500 people nationwide aged 18 and older, with a final 1,006 respondents (response rate 3.8%).
