Se큐웍스, Tenant of Seoul Startup Center Gwanak, Obtains New Technology Certification from National Institute of Technology and Standards
Acquired New Technology Certification from National Institute of Technology and Standards for World's First Sound Field Detection Technology-Based Sound Field Sensor and Solution Development
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] SecuWorks (CEO Ki-sung Park), a tenant company located in Nakseongdae-dong, Gwanak-gu (Gwanak-gu Office Chief Jun-hee Park) at ‘Seoul Startup Center Gwanak (454 Bongcheon-ro, Gwanak-gu)’, has developed the world’s first sound field detection technology-based sound field sensor and solution, and obtained the ‘New Technology Certification (NET)’ from the National Institute of Technology and Standards.
Seoul Startup Center Gwanak opened in February and currently hosts 11 companies from various fields based on innovative technologies, actively engaging in activities.
The New Technology Certification is a certification system granted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy to excellent technologies that are either newly developed domestically or innovatively improved or enhanced existing technologies. Products certified receive various benefits such as funding loans, tax benefits, and expanded market access.
The newly developed technology is a solution for motion detection (intrusion) and abnormal temperature rise detection (fire) using sound field sensors, characterized by superior speed and accuracy compared to existing detectors and usability without blind spots.
Additionally, edge computer machine learning techniques are applied to enhance user convenience through automated environmental settings and control/monitoring systems using PCs and applications.
The sound field sensor solution has been recognized as excellent technology in various fields, having obtained not only the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy’s ‘New Technology Certification (NET)’ but also the Public Procurement Service’s ‘Innovative Product Certification,’ the Korean Intellectual Property Office’s ‘Global IP Star Company Certification,’ and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ ‘Technology Capability Excellence Company Certification.’
This technology can be applied not only to building management but also to various facilities where fires may occur, such as power distribution panels, electric vehicle charging station ESS facilities, and is expected to have wide demand from civilian, public, and military sectors.
Meanwhile, as a major pledge project of the 7th local government, the district is promoting the ‘Gwanak S Valley Project’ aiming to become a venture startup city leading technology startups, with ‘Nakseong Venture Valley’ centered on Nakseongdae and ‘Sillim Startup Valley’ centered on Daehak-dong as two main axes.
As of June 2021, the district has established a total of 11 startup infrastructures, including five locations such as Nakseong Venture Startup Center last year, and six additional locations including Startup HERE-RO3, Digico KT Open Lab, and KB Innovation Hub, planning to create a total of 16 startup infrastructures by 2022.
