US 'Watergate' Investigative Reporter to Release Third Book on Trump in September
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] Bob Woodward, the veteran American journalist known for the 'Watergate' scoop, is set to publish his third book focusing on former President Donald Trump.
According to CNN on the 5th (local time), the new book covers the final period of Trump's presidency and will be released on September 21. The title of the book has not yet been disclosed.
This book will also be published by Simon & Schuster, a major American publishing house that released Woodward's previous two works dealing with Trump's behind-the-scenes stories and the dysfunction within his administration.
Woodward, a legendary investigative reporter and two-time Pulitzer Prize winner, is co-authoring this book with Robert Costa of The Washington Post (WP).
CNN reported, "Woodward said that the new book will extensively cover the late term of former President Trump's tenure and the transition process to the Joe Biden administration."
Additionally, the book will include content about the early days of President Biden's administration.
Woodward's first book, 'Fear,' published in 2018, dealt with the dysfunction of the Trump administration, detailing measures taken by senior officials and aides to prevent Trump's impulsive decisions.
In Woodward's second book, 'Rage,' released last year, he revealed that Trump was aware of the severity of COVID-19 but failed to properly inform the public.
'Rage' also included Trump's assessments of North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un and behind-the-scenes stories of the two North Korea?U.S. summits.
While Trump refused interviews during the writing of 'Fear,' he allowed an unprecedented 18 interviews during the preparation of 'Rage.'
CNN reported that it is unclear whether Trump has agreed to interviews with Woodward and Costa for this new book.
