The 17th Jungnang New Spring Literary Awards Ceremony Held

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) announced that it held the awards ceremony for the 17th Jungnang New Year Literary Contest on the 2nd.
In this contest, a total of 13 works won awards, including 1 grand prize, 4 excellence awards in each category, and 8 encouragement awards. First, the integrated grand prize was awarded to the poem (sijo) category work "Kkaldakgogae 570 Steps" (Shin Mi-kyung). This piece metaphorically expressed the ups and downs of a father's life through the 570 steps of Kkaldakgogae on Yongmasan Mountain, and was unanimously selected as the grand prize by all judges.
The excellence awards in each category went to ▲Poetry (sijo) category "Like a Pear Blossom Against the Naecheon River" (Gong Pil-ju) ▲Essay category "Yongmasan, Comes Alive" (Park Seong-geun) ▲Children's Literature (poetry and fairy tales) category "The Country Where Dragons and Horses Live" (Kim Seul-gi) ▲Short Story category "The Flower Shop in Front of Hwarang Village" (Lim Jeong-ha).
Hosted by the district and organized by the Jungnang branch of the Korea Writers' Association, this contest solicited works in four fields based on Jungnang-gu's nature, environment, culture, and lifestyle from March to May without regional or age restrictions. A total of 191 people submitted 407 works.
