Chairman Kim Seung-yeon Dines with Edwin Feulner, Chairman of the US Heritage Foundation
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Kim Seung-yeon, Chairman of Hanwha Group, and Edwin Feulner, Chairman of the Asia Studies Center at the U.S. Heritage Foundation, met to discuss ways to strengthen the Korea-U.S. friendship.
Hanwha Group announced on the 1st that Chairman Kim and Chairman Edwin Feulner held a dinner meeting on June 30 at The Plaza Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul.
This meeting took place as Edwin Feulner visited Korea to participate in a domestic conference exploring post-COVID Korea-U.S. alliance strategies. During the dinner, which lasted over two hours, Chairman Kim Seung-yeon and Edwin Feulner candidly exchanged views on coexistence and prosperity between Korea and the U.S. after COVID-19.
Present at the meeting were Hwang Jin-woo, Executive Director of Hanwha Life’s Economic Analysis Office, and Kim Dong-seon, Executive Director of Hanwha Hotels & Resorts and the third son of Chairman Kim. Recently transferred to the Premium Business Division of Hanwha Hotels & Resorts, Executive Director Kim attentively listened to the conversation between Chairman Kim and Feulner, which covered not only Korea-U.S. relations but also the changing global economic situation after COVID-19.
Edwin Feulner participated in the founding of the Heritage Foundation, a U.S. policy research institute, in 1973 and served as its chairman until 2013. Since 2013, he has been serving as chairman of the Asia Studies Center within the Heritage Foundation, making him a leading Asia expert. He is also known as a prominent pro-Korea figure in the U.S., possessing extensive knowledge and experience across various fields including Korean politics, economy, and society.
