SC Engineering Wins 32.9 Billion KRW Kumho Mitsui Chemical Automated Warehouse Construction Project
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Comprehensive engineering specialist company SC Engineering announced on the 1st that it has signed a contract worth 32.9 billion KRW with Kumho Mitsui Chemicals for an automated warehouse and auxiliary facilities construction project. The contract period is until December 31, 2022.
The project awarded this time is part of Kumho Mitsui Chemicals' expansion of a 200,000-ton MDI (polyurethane raw material) plant being constructed in Yeosu by 2024. Under this contract, SC Engineering will perform EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) to newly build an automated refrigerated warehouse within the Yeosu MDI plant and establish automated transfer equipment and auxiliary facilities between automated warehouses within the logistics base.
SC Engineering recently established a Yeosu branch in March to enhance its EPC project execution capabilities in the Yeosu region, where orders amounting to about 50% of domestic petrochemical project orders are concentrated. Based in Yeosu, where many chemical plants operating with SC Engineering’s EPC technology are located, the company aims to strengthen its position in various project bids. This order is highly significant as it is the first large-scale contract achieved since the establishment of the Yeosu branch.
Yoo Seung-gyu, CEO of SC Engineering, said, “This project involves constructing a special warehouse for hazardous materials that requires maintaining a specific temperature inside and strict permits. SC Engineering possesses high technical competitiveness and various references specialized in this field.” He added, “This project award is the result of successfully executing projects continuously ordered by Kumho Mitsui Chemicals over the past three years and the accumulated high trust in SC Engineering.”
