Samsung Asset Management Lists Two ETFs Including 'KODEX US Semiconductor MV ETF'
Investment in Global Leading Companies Listed on the US Stock Market
[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] Samsung Asset Management announced on the 30th that it will list two global thematic ETFs, ‘KODEX US Semiconductor MV’ and ‘KODEX US Smart Mobility S&P’ ETFs. Both products invest in leading global companies listed on the US stock market, including those from the US, Europe, and China.
The KODEX US Semiconductor MV ETF invests in 25 leading global semiconductor companies listed in the US. It invests across the entire semiconductor value chain, including TSMC (14.65%), which leads the global foundry industry, integrated semiconductor company Intel (5.41%), fabless (design) company Nvidia (9.36%), and semiconductor equipment company ASML (6.23%). The underlying index is the MVIS US Listed Semiconductor 25 index calculated by MV Index Solutions, a US-based MV company, and the total expense ratio is 0.45%.
The individual stock limit for the KODEX US Semiconductor MV ETF is 20%. Compared to the Philadelphia ETF, which has an individual stock limit of 8%, this ETF’s biggest feature is that it can invest more heavily in large-cap semiconductor leading companies.
The concurrently listed KODEX US Smart Mobility S&P ETF tracks the S&P Kensho Smart Transportation Index. This ETF invests in the mobility revolution, a core of the 4th Industrial Revolution. It invests not only in electric vehicles, which are central to the mobility revolution, but also in four major mobility sectors classified as autonomous vehicles, drones, and next-generation transportation systems. It allows diversified investment in key global companies without being limited to specific countries. It invests in over 80 stocks including Blink Charging, Uber, SolarEdge, and Tesla, with the highest country allocation being the US at 70.9%. The KODEX US Smart Mobility S&P ETF features a lower expense ratio compared to overseas smart mobility investment ETFs listed domestically, with a total expense ratio of 0.45%.
