6 Confirmed Cases Linked to Karaoke Workers in Daejeon
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] On the 28th, COVID-19 cases were confirmed consecutively among karaoke and entertainment workers as well as at a church in Daejeon.
According to Daejeon City, following a positive COVID-19 diagnosis of a karaoke worker in their 30s the previous day, four colleagues who had contact with him (three in their 50s and one in their 40s) tested positive on the same day. One acquaintance of the person in their 30s also tested positive, and with a colleague testing positive in Jeju, the chain of infections increased to seven people.
Health authorities are investigating the first confirmed case in their 30s, who is reported to have visited 4 to 5 karaoke establishments since the 23rd, and are securing entry logs from these karaoke venues to classify close contacts.

The number of confirmed cases related to the church in Yongsan-dong, Yuseong-gu, increased by two, bringing the total to 76. The additional confirmed cases were church members who were under self-quarantine. By 6 p.m. on the same day, a total of 16 new cases were confirmed in Daejeon, including siblings and a father who had visited Seoul.
