Gwangju Buk-gu to Resume Biennale 'Media Facade' Performances from Next Month 3rd
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Moon In) will resume the media facade performance, which received great response as a unique attraction for local residents and visitors during the 13th Gwangju Biennale.
Buk-gu announced on the 28th that it will operate the media facade performance every Saturday evening at the Gwangju Biennale Exhibition Hall until August 28.
Previously, Buk-gu produced the work "Tree of Light" (artist Jin Siyoung) with support from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Gwangju City, and screened videos during the Gwangju Biennale period, delivering a message of healing and hope for humanity amid the COVID-19 situation, captivating viewers' eyes and ears.
Starting next month, the "Be Light in Buk-gu" Biennale cultural concert, held every Saturday from 7:30 PM at the Gwangju Biennale Exhibition Hall, will include various programs such as busking and experience booths.
In particular, a new work combining artistry and diversity, such as the media art "Land of Light" (artist Jin Siyoung), which depicts a journey to an unknown space full of dreams and hope, will be presented.
Mayor Moon In of Buk-gu said, "We will actively promote the Biennale media facade performance so that it can establish itself as a representative visual media culture of Gwangju."
