Gwanak-gu Supports Disinfection and Sterilization for 500 Vulnerable Households
Support for Low-Income, Elderly, and Disabled Households Living in Semi-Basements in Blind Spots of Quarantine... Implementation of Quarantine Plus Project Including Infectious Disease Prevention, Mold Removal, Odor Elimination, and Decluttering
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) is receiving great responses for the Bangyeok Plus project conducted for 500 households in vulnerable housing conditions.
The "Bangyeok Plus for Vulnerable Housing Groups" project supports disinfection, mold, pest, and odor removal for vulnerable housing groups to prevent infectious diseases and create a pleasant living environment, aiming to stabilize housing and improve housing standards for these groups.
The support targets vulnerable housing groups in blind spots of disinfection, including basic livelihood recipients aged 65 or older, registered disabled households, single-parent families, and near-poverty households living in poor housing conditions such as semi-basements within the region.
From March 12 to June 11, over approximately three months, the district provided disinfection and pest control inside homes for about 500 vulnerable households, along with odor removal from drains and sinks, mold and pest removal, home organization, and cleaning to improve the living environment.
In particular, the disinfection used a spray-type method with effective microorganisms (EM) certified by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Environmental Agency, and alcohol, which are harmless to humans, allowing residents to resume daily life immediately after disinfection, resulting in very high satisfaction among recipients.
Subsequently, a satisfaction survey conducted with about 150 households showed positive responses from over 95% of residents, demonstrating strong community support.
Meanwhile, the district plans to carry out the second half of the Bangyeok Plus project for 500 households from July to September, further strengthening efforts to improve housing welfare for vulnerable groups in the region.
