Seoul City Commercializes 7 'Recycled' Products Using Printing Technology in Sewoon Area... Prototype Production and Exhibition

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 28th that it has carried out the ‘Print Ground’ project, which combines designers' ideas with local printing technology as part of revitalizing the printing industry around Sewoon Sangga. Seven prototypes created under the theme of ‘recycling’ will be commercialized through crowdfunding.

‘Print Ground’ is a prototype production and exhibition project aimed at attracting young designers and creators and promoting the printing industry in the Sewoon Sangga area. This project was promoted by integrating the printing industry around Sewoon Sangga based on the experience of ‘Sewoon Made,’ a prototype production support project linked to urban manufacturing.

The seven prototypes introduced this time highlight the significance of industrial regeneration in the Sewoon Sangga area and the latest trend of eco-friendly printing. These seven prototypes are now awaiting investment from citizens. From the 28th, each product can be viewed on the crowdfunding platform websites ‘Tumblbug’ and ‘Wadiz.’

Meanwhile, to accommodate citizens who wish to visit and experience the prototypes in person, 10 cafes located throughout the printing alley have been selected to exhibit the prototypes during the funding period starting from the 5th. Investment participation is possible through the accompanying QR codes.

Kim Hyung-seok, Director of the Historical Urban Regeneration Division of Seoul City, said, “Through this project, we hope that many talented designers and creators will come to this area by experiencing the printing technology of Sewoon Sangga.” He added, “We will continue to discover and support projects to revitalize local industries in the Sewoon Sangga area.”
