According to the county on the 27th, to prevent the decrease in the number of fish inhabiting Hampyeong Bay due to changes in the marine environment and ecosystem of the coastal waters, the county releases high-quality marine seeds annually.
About 30 people, including county officials, Jeonnam Marine Fisheries Science Institute, Wolcheon Fishing Village Association, and local fishermen, participated in the release conducted around Wolcheon Port in Sonbul-myeon on that day.
The county confirmed the effectiveness of the project, as the area around Hampyeong Bay, a clean sea area, has good conditions for fish habitation, and the black porgy fry release project, which has been continuously implemented for several years, has increased the catch volume by more than three times compared to before, and is accelerating the project further.

A county official stated, “We have requested fishermen and anglers to refrain from catching for a certain period so that the released fry can adapt well, and we will do our best to contribute to increasing fishermen's income by protecting and fostering the rapidly decreasing marine resources.”
