Seoul Welfare Foundation Strengthens 'Youth Housing Service Support'... Signs MOU with Mindalpaengi Union
Connecting Housing-Related Programs and Services for Cheongnyeon Tongjang Participants
The Seoul Welfare Foundation announced on the 28th that it signed a business agreement with Mindalpaengi Union to guarantee youth housing rights, with participants including Choi Ji-hee, Director of the Seoul Youth Housing Counseling Center, Yoo Yeon-hee, Head of the Foundation's Regional Welfare Integration Headquarters, and Kim Sol-ah, Chairperson of Mindalpaengi Union (from left).
View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Welfare Foundation announced on the 25th that it has signed a business agreement with the nonprofit organization Mindalpaengi Union for "service linkage to support youth housing services."
Mindalpaengi Union, established in 2011, is a civic organization that conducts projects to guarantee youth housing rights and projects related to the enactment and revision of laws and systems concerning housing issues. Since May 2020, it has been operating the Seoul Youth Housing Counseling Center within the SH Central Housing Welfare Center.
According to this agreement, the two organizations will cooperate to enable participants of the Hope Double Youth Account, hosted by the foundation, to participate in and utilize various counseling and education programs operated by the Seoul Youth Housing Counseling Center run by Mindalpaengi Union.
The Hope Double Youth Account is a program first implemented nationwide by the Seoul Metropolitan Government in 2015 to help working youth prepare a stable lump sum with specific future plans and goals. Over the past five years, Seoul has selected 8,061 participants and provided matching support funds totaling 14.865 billion KRW.
Kim Sol-a, Chairperson of Mindalpaengi Union, said, "Mindalpaengi Union and the Seoul Youth Housing Counseling Center provide counseling and education programs reflecting the needs of youth regarding housing and finance," adding, "We will do our best to offer substantial programs to the youth account participants."

Lee Hae-woo, Acting CEO of the Seoul Welfare Foundation, said, "Seoul is striving to develop and link various programs so that youth account participants can establish concrete future plans," and added, "With the increase of single-person youth households and growing interest in youth housing, we hope this agreement will help participants in resolving housing issues even a little."
