[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Laser application device specialist LIS is entering the secondary battery business by acquiring shares of the electric vehicle battery pack company 'Tiendi'.
LIS announced on the 24th that it has decided to acquire stocks and equity securities of other companies worth 15.7 billion KRW. The number of shares to be acquired is 44,000, and the acquisition amount corresponds to 35.58% of its equity capital. The shareholding ratio after acquisition will be 44%. The scheduled acquisition date is July 23.
The company stated that the purpose of the acquisition is "to diversify business areas, among others."
